Valve Cover Gaskets

WHEN YOUR REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE

Topping off an auto repair with inferior valve cover gaskets can create leaks for the whole world to see. The installer’s reputation suffers when newly repaired engines get oily and dirty around the valve covers. You can trust Magnum MaxDry™ precision molded rubber gaskets to seal high-tech late models and our high quality conventional materials for the millions of older vehicles still on the road.

MAGNUM HAS YOU COVERED

Magnum’s Valve Cover Gaskets Sets cover more than 80% of category sales. We offer gaskets for the most popular vehicles in America, including models from 1955 through 2009 and up. Chevrolet, Buick, Ford, Chrysler, GMC, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Isuzu and more… we cover them all.

WHEN IS A GASKET MORE THAN A GASKET?

The 7.3L V8 Powerstroke Diesel Engine, manufactured by International/Navistar, was a popular choice in Ford Trucks for many years. The functions of this gasket go “above and beyond” the normal call of duty for gaskets. In addition to the usual role of sealing engine oil and fumes, it incorporates built-in electrical connectors that direct current to the fuel injectors and glow plugs, which are located inside the valve covers. These gaskets also feature compression limiters, which take the guesswork out of torqueing, and installation aids that ensure proper location on the cover.

WHEN IS A GASKET MORE THAN A GASKET?

Magnum VS 25013 has TWO electrical connectors along the lower edge of each valve cover gasket and fits most 1994-1997 vehicle production. Magnum VS 25004 has ONE electrical connector along the lower edge of each valve cover and fits most 1998-2003 Ford Powerstroke models. Magnum is one of very few companies who combine the plastic/rubber molding technology and engine sealing expertise necessary to produce these sophisticated parts. Magnum is unique in being able to manufacture these components in the USA at very attractive aftermarket prices.

“DO’s & DON’Ts” of VALVE COVER GASKETS

Many years ago, you could change a straight six valve cover gasket in 10 minutes for 10 bucks. Six months later, if it was leaking a little, you’d snug up the cap screws until you finally had to change the gasket again. Well, unless you’re repairing somebody’s ’63 Falcon, those days are long gone. Valve cover gaskets are now sophisticated components that serve as part of complex emissions control and NVH (noise-vibration-harshness) systems.

  • DON’T buy valve cover gaskets just on price
  • DO buy gaskets that provide good value but with the quality materials you expect
  • DON’T think that good gaskets can compensate for bent covers and dirty surfaces
  • DO the cleaning and preparation necessary for a long-lasting seal
  • DON’T assume you won’t find Magnum Gaskets for a late model Lexus or an old model Hornet
  • DO check out Magnum’s online catalog and your local Magnum Gasket supplier

THE RIGHT DESIGN FOR EVERY ENGINe

Vehicle manufacturers have supplied many different types of valve cover designs and gasket materials over the years. Magnum’s gasket experts know if there is one best design for a particular engine or if the installer deserves a choice of materials and prices.

Molded Rubber Gaskets

Molded Rubber Gaskets

OEM or better quality for late model vehicles. Extended warranties and customer expectations for zero engine leakage have led vehicle manufactures to introduce very sophisticated sealing designs. Magnum has the exclusive molding technology and design experience needed to meet or exceed OEM standards at very competitive prices.

High Quality Cork-Rubber Gaskets

High Quality Cork-Rubber Gaskets

OEM or better quality for engines that are designed for conventional gaskets. Magnum Engineers insist on superior material quality that you can rely upon for dependable service.

Cork-Rubber Gaskets with Compression Limiters

Cork-Rubber Gaskets with Compression Limiters

Cork-rubber gaskets with the added benefit of stoppers at bolt holes to reduce torque loss.

Cork-Rubber Gaskets with High Temp Sections

Cork-rubber gaskets with special heat resistant sections for applications where hot components, such as exhaust passages, are in close proximity to valve covers.

Special Construction Gaskets

Premium composition materials that are required or recommended for the unique operating conditions of certain engines. For example, the outer valve cover flanges adjacent to the exhaust manifolds on some Chrysler Big Block V8’s are exposed to temperatures as high as 700°F.
